Office Design Trends for 2020

Office furniture trends change from time to time and 2020 will be no different. We will see more ergonomic and efficient offices that create enjoyable environments, rooms that enhance collaboration and creativity, achieving greater productivity and effectiveness. Furthermore, here are a few trends we can expect in the new year and beyond.

"Recharge Rooms"

These rooms are more than just a grouping of lounge chairs by the window to drink your morning coffee or chat with coworkers. Employees will be able to take a few minutes of downtime to relax, stretch and recharge their minds in order to tackle another project.

Game Rooms can be complex with ping pong tables and video games or a space with a beanbag chair and small tv. This will allow workers a place to get away and come back to a project refreshed and ready.

Nap Rooms seems counterproductive but having a small room big enough for a comfortable couch, allow those employees working long hours to take a power nap and help them shift perspective and tackle any project with a clear mind.

Biophilia

Bringing nature into the workplace does wonders for a space. Biophilic design "can reduce stress, improve cognitive function, and enhance mood and creativity. These and other outcomes can increase health and wellbeing, as well as productivity."

There are easy ways to incorporate biophilic design into the workplace; incorporate natural features like wood and stone to your office furniture and décor accents or adding plant life around the office.

Brand Colors Décor

Not just modern offices but also colleges, universities and healthcare are implementing their brand colors into their environment with small pops of color to the furniture, walls or decorative pillows. Branding expresses your unique identity and helps connect with your employees and visitors.

Thoughtful office design will serve to enhance productivity and comfort of both clients and employees and 2020 office trends will continue to promote all these concepts. The offices of the future are becoming more real and little by little they become the offices of the present!
