Designer/Space Planner/Specifier

About the Role:

We are looking for someone who is confident, creative, attentive to details, and team oriented. This position will be responsible for developing and presenting creative, solution-based plans for the customer in the areas of space planning, furniture products, color and materials application. Major responsibilities will include specifications of products and finishes for proposal generation and order entry.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with sales teams and clients to gather project information and develop creative and functional design solutions that meet the clients’ requirements, aesthetic, and budget.

  • Support projects through initial program/development phase to order entry and final installation.

  • Prepare working drawings and furniture specifications using AutoCad and 2020 Cap Studio for interior furniture layouts and pricing.

  • Continually advance your knowledge on available product solutions and workplace trends to be a trusted resource for the sales team and client.

  • Generate renderings for presentations and product representation using Sketch up.

  • Field measure job site for verification of drawings.

  • Inventory clients existing furniture for the ability to reconfigure their space.

  • Assist with upholstery and finish selections.

  • Collaborate with Account Executive to create proposals and presentation materials.

  • Spec Check other team members work as needed.

  • Assist with organizing and updating library with current literature.

 

The Right Applicant for This Role Has:

  • A positive attitude, a strong work ethic and be self-motivated.

  • Capability to prioritize responsibilities with the appropriate level of urgency, able to solve problems, anticipate issues and make correct decisions based on a variety of situations

  • The capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines consistently.

  • Superior communication skills; verbal and written; able to listen effectively to solve problems, anticipate issues and make effective decisions.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as part of an effective team and independently.

  • Methodical, accurate and consistent attention to detail

  • Ability to commute to the office several days a week

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, CAP Studio and Microsoft Office.
